Property Description

Mill House, Moffat is a luxuriously finished cottage in it's own grounds, with fishing rights on Evan Water, and is adjacent to three other cottages converted from the former post stables at Telford house, all the cottages can be rented together. Mill House retains its original character and offers spacious accommodation making it a superb base for a family holiday and an ideal touring location.

Moffat is an attractive spa town and has been popular as a holiday resort since the 17th Century.  The town nestles within the southern upland hills and the local area is recognised as being of outstanding natural beauty.  Moffat has excellent local shops, hotels and restaurants.

In the surrounding area there are numerous walks, both low ground along the Annan Water and also in the southern upland hills, including walks to the Grey Mare's Tail, Scotland's highest waterfall now cared for by the National Trust for Scotland, you can also search for fossils or spot birds of prey whilst following the popular footpath.  The Moffat Hills are popular with walkers and cyclists with varied routes suitable for all abilities. The Southern Upland Way long distance walk from Portpatrick through to Cockburnspathis is nearby and extends to a total of 212 miles for committed walkers.

There are two nature reserves close by on the edge of Moffat. Whilst horse riding, quad biking and golf are all available locally, as is the popular 7 Stanes trails offering world class mountain biking. Rod hire is available in the town, and there are three fishing ponds at the local Hammerlands Centre, which also has an adventure play park, animal farm and garden centre.
