The Auld Schoolhouse was originally built in 1791 as a water driven linen mill, it was converted in 1876 to accommodate the local schoolmaster. It has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard but retains all of its original charms. The swift flowing Skyreburn, which once drove the water mill, runs the full length of the spacious mature and secluded garden which is enclosed and safe for children. The house is located on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park, a 5 minute drive to historic Gatehouse of Fleet, a short walk to the nearby sandy, child friendly beach, and the quiet country road (used for access only) leads directly to the magnificent Galloway Hills. The house is also within easy reach of 7 Stanes cycle routes.

Auld Schoolhouse is let Saturday - Saturday, short breaks are welcome outside of peak periods please contact us with your requirements.
