Property Description

Mansewood is a self catering holiday house in New Luce, Dumfries and Galloway. A substantial family house situated on the edge of the small village of New Luce commanding panoramic open views across the children"s play park to the hills beyond. Newly refurbished, the property provides excellent and spacious family accommodation.

New Luce is situated in the scenic valley of the River Luce accessed by a quiet country road and in an area ideal for walking (adjacent to the Southern Upland Way) and cycling. Salmon and trout fishing in season and coarse fishing are available on request to the owner. Deer stalking and rough shooting can also be arranged.

Nearby are the historic ruins of Glenluce Abbey and the area is steeped in history and interest. Within a short drive is access to the coast and beaches and just outside nearby Glenluce is an excellent seaside golf course with several other courses all within easy reach. The nearby town of Stranraer is the ferry port for Northern Ireland. The Rhinns peninsula has a number of coastal villages with, at the Mull of Galloway, the southernmost point in Scotland, a lighthouse and visitor centre. The village of New Luce itself has a shop and a pub serving meals both within a very short walking distance.
