Property Description

Kirkholm B&B is a large, detached stone property in the centre of Carsphairn village, close to Shop.

Kirkholm B&B has 3 letting rooms on the first floor, 1 double ensuite and 1 twin room and 1 single room sharing a bathroom, ideal as family acccomodation. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

On the ground floor is a guest lounge/breakfast room with Freesat TV, a DVD player and a selection of  DVDs. Part of the garden is also for guest use.  Attached to the house is a large garage for secure storage of bikes/motorbikes.

Kirkholm B&B is a non smoking establishment.

The village of Carsphairn is situated in South West Scotland on the A713 between Ayr and Castle Douglas (25 miles to each) and is on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park so is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and bird watching. Horse riding available nearby.

Carsphairn is close to the Southern Upland Way and the Red Kite Trail and is on the Galloway Tourist Route to Ayr from Gretna and the Burn’s Trail, which follows many places frequented by Robert Burns and runs from Dumfries to Ayr. From Carsphairn it is possible to visit Edinburgh, Glasgow or the Isle of Arran for a day trip.

In the village itself there is a General Store and a Heritage Centre with local history information. In both you will find brochures on the many places of local interest as well as transport information and local maps.

Behind the village there is an excellent river for trout fishing, in season. This is by private agreement with the landowner. Permits are available from the shop in the village for fishing at other areas close by.
