Many delights await you in Drumlanrig?s 40 acres of formal gardens and woodland. Planned and planted in the 19th century by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch with the help of two of the most prominent landscape artists of the age, the gardens of Drumlanrig are gradually and caringly being restored to their former glory. See rarities such as the first Douglas Fir to be planted in Britain and the largest Weeping Beech to be found in the UK. Look out for new, unusual plants introduced from China and the Himalayas, tropical vines and plants in the renovated Victorian Green- house - and find a range of attractive garden plants you can buy for your own home.
