Description
The foundations of the small rectangular Chapel of Finian lie on a raised beach at Corwall Point to the north west of Port William in Dumfries and Galloway. It dates from the 10th or 11th century and probably takes its name from the Irish St Finian of Moville who was trained at Whithorn and died c.579. The site may have been a landing place for Irish pilgrims to St Ninian's shrine
