Property Description

Neptune Cottage is set directly in front of the sandy beach in the picturesque seaside village of Rockcliffe. The cottage's Sun Lounge has panoramic uninterrupted views of Rough Island together with the estuary and Hestan Island; the twin and family bedrooms have similar views. Neptune provides superb accommodation with a private enclosed front garden in one of the most popular locations in South West Scotland.
There is easy access to the Jubilee Path which leads to Kippford; a popular and busy sailing centre which also has two hotels serving excellent food. The area is renowned for its beautiful walks, bird watching at RSPB Mersehead and for the adventurous it is possible to cross at low tide to the National Trust for Scotland reserve on Rough Island- but take care of the residents and don't overstay your welcome!
There are numerous golf courses close to hand including the 18 hole links championship course at Southerness. For cyclists the Dalbeattie Woods section of the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network is about a five minute drive from the house and other trails are within easy reach of the Galloway Forest. These woods and forests also provide varied and interesting walks as do the local beach and cliffwalks which give access to deserted smugglers' coves.
