Services and facilities include fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, television, hoover, iron and ironing board. There is full oil fired central heating and a wood burning stove in the sitting room, (Wood can be supplied for a small extra charge). The steading has its own private fresh water supply which is real spring water.Duvets, pillows, all linen and towels are provided free of charge. Adjacent to the steading is Bowerhope House, built on the site of an ancient Kerr of Cessford fortified tower house whose charter was granted by Mary Queen Of Scots. It was once the home in 1920 of Maurice Hewlett, author of ?The Forest Lovers.? Today, it is the much loved home of author and travel writer Derek Mackenzie-Hook who will afford you a warm welcome.
