Sitting high on the side of the Nith Valley, surrounded by the stunning landscape characteristic of the Estate of the Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry, the cottage enjoys spectacular views across woodlands and farmland to the Queensberry hills. Accessed from a quiet, public road, it makes an ideal base for country lovers, with beautiful woodland paths, parkland, loch and river fishing available nearby. The accommodation within the cottage comprises: Ground Floor - lounge, dining room with double sofa bed, double bedroom (with ensuite), kitchen and bathroom; First Floor (reached by steep stairs) - two twin-bedded rooms, one accessed through the other. The cottage has an open fire in addition to oil-fired central heating and is fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Electricity is included within the rental along with logs and bed linen. The small village of Penpont, with shop and pub, is 3 miles away. Other facilities are available in the nearby town of Thornhill, also 3 miles away, offering a good range of shops and eateries. As well as the exclusive fishing and fieldsports available to let on the Estate, golf is also on offer in both Thornhill and Sanquhar (12 miles). The town of Dumfries is situated 18 miles south. The cottage is let from Sunday to Sunday and rental for 2004 starts from approximately ?248 rising to ?574 (inclusive of VAT) at the height of the season.
