A very special house in a magic situation on the shore of Loch Ken and opposite the main entrance to Galloway Forest Park. A detached farmhouse, it has recently been completely modernised, redecorated, furnished and equipped with further redecoration and furniture in 2006, and has everything necessary for a perfect holiday. Loch Ken is in an area of outstanding beauty with steep, forested hills on one side and rolling farmland and woods on the other. It has a wonderful variety of wild life - notably nightjars, waterfowl, raptors ( including the reintroduced red kites), otters and deer (and an RSPB reserve nearby). The Galloway Activity Centre, across the loch, provides dinghy, canoe and windsurfer instruction and hire plus quad biking and other outdoor activities. Ringour is about 3/4 mile (along an unsurfaced private road) from the A762 public road, so it is ideal for a peaceful secluded holiday in an idyllic setting, though there are plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants etc. within 10 minutes drive. In an outbuilding, attached to the house, there is a drying room and a games room (Pool table, darts).
Ringour can sleep 8/9 people but the particularly well appointed and attractive master bedroom with balcony overlooking Loch Ken make it ideal for a couple seeking a special holiday outside the high season.
