Property Description

Ted and Kath Reeder offer you a warm welcome at our small friendly holiday park, in the heart of the Machars peninsula, in South West Scotland. Whether it be caravan holiday home hire, a touring park or a camping pitch you require, Castlewigg is the place for your well deserved holiday. Our holiday hire homes are set in the picturesque walled garden of the former Castlewigg Manor. We are situated 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and 2 miles north of Whithorn on the A746, surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside, and with sandy beaches just 5 miles away, it is an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and tranquillity. To this end, we do not accept single sex groups. We cater for couples and families. This is excellent country for outdoor pursuits especially, walking, cycling and bird watching. There are a number of outstanding golf courses, and pony trekking facilities nearby. With the Gulf Stream giving our mild climate, the area has many gardens, including Galloway House, Castle Kennedy and Logan Botanical boasting a range of tropical plants. Castlewigg is an ideal base for exploring Wigtownshire, with the beautiful countryside, coastlines and towns and villages of the Machars. Be it, the pretty harbour towns of the Isle of Whithorn, Garlieston and Port William, or the booktown of Wigtown, or the golden sands at Monreith beach, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Join us on your visit to Scotland, you will not be disappointed. We are open from the 1st March each year to 31st October.
