Property Description

Blackaddie Lodge is a centre of excellence within the Bed and Breakfast world. Built in the 1860's with the robustness of a Scottish Castle, and yet originally served it's time as a Victorian Hunting Lodge. Although many changes have taken place over the years, the pesent owners have lovingly restored 'Blackaddie' back to its former glory, and so preserving its charm and character. Situated in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, near the ancient town of Sanquhar, you are in the heart of 'Burns' country a region steeped in History, and within easy access of major tourist destinations, such as Dumfries, Glasgow, Ayr and Edinburgh, and Prestwick Airport being only 45 minutes away. Blackaddie Lodge, is a compact and traditional Scottish residence that specialises in quality Bed & Breakfast, the emphasis being on that quality and not quantity. We take a pride in looking after our guests, and that is why they keep coming back, so we must be doing something right. Situated in the Nithsdale valley, the area is pre-dominantly rural, and is famous for its stunning scenery of rolling hills and rivers. The area is steeped in History, being in the heart of Burns country, and visited centuries ago by legends such as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, and Mary Queen of Scots, each leaving visible reminders of their visit. Fishing, Golfing, swimming, and walking are all within walking distance of Blackaddie Lodge.
