Ballantrae is a small village and parish situated on the A77 coastal route between Stranraer and Girvan in Ayrshire.
The name Ballantrae was made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson in his book 'The Master of Ballantrae'. However Ballantrae's history is more notably linked with the Covenanters and is where conventicles were held.
